As we begin the 2026–2027 academic year, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all NJACTE members. The start of a new year offers an opportunity to reflect on our shared commitment to advancing educator preparation across New Jersey and to look ahead to the important work we will accomplish together.
NJACTE continues to thrive because of the dedication, expertise, and collaboration of our members and Executive Committee. I am honored to serve alongside such an outstanding leadership team that includes President-Elect/Treasurer Dr. Kate Spence, Secretary Lisa Abreu Morel, and Past-President Dr. Amy Kline, as well as our committed at-large representatives from institutions across the state.
As many of you know, our Executive Committee faced five vacancies this past spring. Please join us in welcoming our newly elected Executive Committee members:

- Julie Good, Ramapo College of New Jersey
- Meredith Riddle, Kean University
- Erica Spence-Umstead, Rider University
We congratulate Vinny, Jeanne, Julie, Meredith, and Erica on their appointments and look forward to the leadership, insight, and innovation they will bring to NJACTE. Their addition strengthens an Executive Committee that represents the diversity and excellence of educator preparation programs throughout New Jersey.
We also look forward to reconnecting at our first membership meeting on September 17, 2026, which will be held in person. Throughout the year, our meetings and events—including the annual Distinguished Clinical Interns Award Ceremony in June—will provide valuable opportunities to collaborate, share emerging practices, and advocate for the continued success of the educator preparation profession.
Thank you for your ongoing engagement, partnership, and support of NJACTE. Together, we will continue strengthening educator preparation and making a positive impact on future teachers and the students they serve.
